
Leona Louise Lewis, born 3rd April 1985 is an actress an activist, singer and actress of British origin. Born in the London Borough Of Islington she went to the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis achieved national recognition in the final season of The X Factor in 2006 and was awarded the PS1 million recording deal for Syco Music. A song by Kelly Clarkson"A Moment Like This" was the winner. It surpassed 50,000 digital downloads in just 30 minutes and reached the top spot for four weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5-album deal in February. Lewis's success continued as she debuted her first album Spirit (2007). It is certified platinum within the UK and became the fourth most-sold album of 2000. As per the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the best-selling debut album of an artist of female origin during the 21st century. Its top-selling single in the United Kingdom, Bleeding Love, remained at No. 1 for seven weeks before becoming the biggest-seller of 2007, According to the Official Charts company. The track was also among the top-selling during 2008, as well. Lewis earned the Billboard Award for Best New Artist. In 2009, she debuted her second studio album, Echo, and recorded the theme track, "I See You", for the film Avatar. In the year 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" as a collaborative effort with Swedish DJ Avicii, and her debut extended-play, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) marked Lewis the release of her 3rd studio album. It was an exciting new trend. Lewis draws inspiration from dubstep , as well as electronic music. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording material for her debut Christmas album. Christmas, With Love was released later that year, and the album's lead track, "One More Sleep" was a top three hit on the charts in the UK. With this chart entry, Lewis was the very first British female solo artist in the top 5 spot with eight songs, beating Olivia Newton John's record of seven.
